CT70 Speedo Gear Removal
Back to this little problem. I knew the gear was steel and the brass set screw needed to come out, but otherwise all the aluminum around it made things difficult to tell what was removable and what was part of the wheel hub. The lilhonda.com board guys scooter, DFull, and kirbby helped out a bunch. I looked at a part on eBay and that helped me to see what my end goal was. Then it was just a matter of using a screwdriver between the gear and hub opposite the cable connection.
This hub is about impossible clamp up, but the brake cable fitting on the edge of the bench was enough backing to get things done.
Pry and push here.
It was tight, but came out okay.
Steel gear and aluminum keeper.
