Mid-West Mini-Fest Saturday - Holler House

I have read about the oldest sanction bowling alley in the nation. It's two lanes in a basement of a tiny bar in Milwaukee. It was built in 1908 and still has hand set pins and pencil and paper scoring. It's a five generation family owned place.

THIS IS...

HOLLER HOUSE

Cathy tells all about the history of the place.

Down to the lanes. She had to get her grandson to go down to set pins so we could bowl a few frames.

All the champions bowl here.

Cathy says to remember that the down stairs restroom is the door to the left past the foul line.

This is me trying to pick up the spare.

Steve trying to get his spare.

Penny giving it a go.

Randy says, "I'll show my daughter how to bowl better!"

Pib barely misses the gutter.

Dang it, I didn't get a picture of KentR bowling, but it totally happened..

Cathy set up the Shot-Ski.

We need to get KentR a stool next time we do this.

Randy and I totally going crazy for the "crack" popcorn. This was cooked by the 89 year-old matriarch in a 60 year old cast iron pot. If you go to the Holler House ask the great grandma if see knows any dirty jokes, but be warned they are pretty raunchy.
